The need

Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing family environment. Families may differ in structure and circumstances, but what matters most is that children grow up with strong, caring relationships and a sense of belonging. Children thrive when they are surrounded by individuals who care for them, believe in them, and provide the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential.

Despite this, many families in Eswatini face challenges such as poverty, unemployment, family instability, illness, disability, and social vulnerabilities that can place children at risk of neglect, poor development outcomes, and unnecessary family separation. Without adequate support, families may struggle to provide the care, protection, and opportunities that children need to thrive.

SOS Children's Villages Eswatini works directly with families at risk of breakdown to strengthen their ability to care for and protect their children. Through family strengthening programmes, the organisation supports caregivers, promotes positive parenting, improves access to essential services, and helps families build resilience and self-reliance. SOS also works with communities, local authorities, and government institutions to create supportive environments that prevent unnecessary family separation and promote the wellbeing of children and young people.

Sustainable investment in families is essential to ensure that children can remain safely within their families and communities whenever possible. By strengthening families today, we create stronger futures for children tomorrow.

The name reflects the belief that strong families are built through collective effort and shared responsibility. By supporting this product, you join a community of compassionate individuals and organisations working together to strengthen vulnerable families and create brighter futures for children.

The baton is in our hands.
