The need

The wellbeing of children and families depends on more than financial resources alone. Across Eswatini, many vulnerable children and families require access to essential goods, professional services, skills development opportunities, and practical support to overcome daily challenges and improve their quality of life.

A child may need school shoes, uniforms, or learning materials to remain in school. A family may require food assistance, household items, or livelihood support during difficult times. A young person may need mentorship, career guidance, vocational training, or employment opportunities to transition successfully into adulthood. Community projects may require equipment, professional expertise, construction materials, or volunteer support to succeed.

At the same time, many individuals, businesses, institutions, faith-based organisations, and professionals possess valuable resources, knowledge, skills, products, and services that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. However, there is often no structured mechanism through which these contributions can be coordinated and channelled to those who need them most.

Sita-Ngalonako was established to provide a flexible and inclusive platform for local giving, enabling individuals and organisations to contribute what they can, when they can. Whether through goods, services, professional expertise, volunteer time, infrastructure support, educational resources, or other in-kind donations, every contribution helps strengthen children, families, and communities.

By connecting community generosity with programme needs, Sita-Ngalonako promotes a culture of solidarity, shared responsibility, and active citizenship, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to contribute towards a brighter future for children and families in Eswatini.

Not every contribution has to be money. Sometimes the most meaningful contribution is a skill, a service, a product, a piece of equipment, professional expertise, or simply the willingness to give time and support to others.

The name reflects the spirit of generosity, solidarity, and shared responsibility that exists within Emaswati communities. Individuals, businesses, institutions, faith-based organisations, and community groups are invited to contribute according to their abilities and available resources.

Passing the Baton for Future Generations

The baton is in our hands.

What we give today can become opportunity for a child. What we strengthen today can become stability for a family. What we build today can become resilience for a community. And what we pass forward today can help shape the Eswatini our children inherit tomorrow.
